Colorado choir dazzles March for Life
WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - WASHINGTON D.C. — Thousands of youth gathered in Washington D.C. Friday for the 52nd annual March for Life, which organizers call the world’s largest pro-life event.
Among the performers was Friends of Club 21, a Colorado-based organization for people with a song in their heart.
“They just bring something else and it’s fresh and it’s unique and it’s never the same. And it connects with people,” said Jared Anderson, director of Friends of Club 21.
The group, which usually performs in their hometown of Colorado Springs, decided to attend the March for Life after recognizing a connection to their mission.
“We didn’t really see this kind of angle coming, but it is like so many pregnancies are terminated when they discover Down’s syndrome,” Anderson said. “And we’ve been really like honing in on that. And so this is kind of a match like just encouraging people not to give up before you get to the good stuff.”
Nicole, one of the choir members, expressed excitement about performing despite some nerves.
“I’m excited, but just a bit nervous,” she said. When asked if she was ready to be a star, she responded, “I’m gonna be a superstar!”
Friends of Club 21 were one of several groups to take the stage Friday. Some members, including Matthew, experienced pre-performance jitters, but found support from their fellow choir members.
