Trump outlines next steps in Minneapolis

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - President Trump is shifting responsibilities around in his administration following the latest deadly shooting of a civilian by federal agents in Minneapolis.

Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino is out, and White House Border Czar Tom Homan is in on the ground in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

“He’s meeting with the governor, and he’s meeting with the mayor, and I hear that’s going very well,” Trump told reporters outside the White House Tuesday.

Critics of the shooting have called for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to step down, but the president said that is not his plan.

“I think she’s doing a very good job. The border is totally secure. You know, you forget, you had a border I inherited, where millions of people were coming through.”

Noem referred to deceased Alex Pretti as a “domestic terrorist,” but Trump said he disagrees.

“I love all of our people and I love his family. And it’s a very sad situation.”

As for whether the shooting was justified, the president said it remains to be seen.

“We’re doing a big investigation,” Trump said. “I want to see the investigation. I’m going to be watching over it. I want a very honorable and honest investigation.”

The President does believe Pretti made a mistake

“You can’t have guns. You can’t walk in with guns. You just can’t.”

Later in Iowa, President Trump described the shooting of Alex Pretti as a “very unfortunate situation.”

Members of Congress have scheduled multiple committee hearings, demanding answers from the administration over killing citizens.
